How do I love thee? Let me say, THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS OF ALL TIME!!!! Sophie gets the most attention for her Shopaholic series, but on my shelves, it’s this book that sits on the velvet shelf. Can you keep a secret always makes me laugh – and I’ve read it four times. It’s juicy with comedic banter and the most embarrassing moments imaginable that keep happening to our main character over and over. Sophie is the queen of comedic romance. We’ve all been in embarrassing situations, but Emma’s story takes the cake. I love how...

Don't you hate a fence sitter, and yet, this is where this book falls, not bad but not great.

Amanda is one of my favorite authors – especially her historical series, and yet, as tantalizing as this novel begins, I found myself feeling rather ho hum about it by the midway point. Trust me when I say that has never happened with her historical novels! I puzzled over this review for a few days after I’d finished reading the book to see if how it sat with me improved at all. Result: only marginally I’m afraid so let’s break it down piece by piece...

I have to admit this was a unique read for me. I started it after a friend recommended it, but a few chapters in, set it down, left it for a while and ended up returning it to the library unfinished. A couple of months later I was waiting for my next books to arrive and felt like reading a good adult romance. Low and behold, after scanning the RITA listings (Romance Writers of America awards) for this year I saw Susanna’s book listed! WELL THEN, I had to try that puppy out for size again! I decided to give it three more chapters and if I didn’t love it, I was done with it. You can well guess that I fell under the spell of...

I was introduced to Jane’s writing by a co-worker who happened to pick up one of her novels as a summer read.  Happily, I can now list Jane on one of my author’s to watch whenever she releases something new (such as, ‘The Big 3-oh’ in 2013).

Originally, I had picked up the second in this series to read and so, being the good little librarian I am, I opted instead to start at the beginning of the stories with Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor. This is a light, airy romance. It`s a perfectly nice, uncomplicated romance that flows with minor, soft turns to its happy conclusion. If I were to compare this book to a style of painting, I would name it a watercolor. Sometimes in life you need an uncomplicated escape and if so, this is the book for you. I liked the injection of...

I started reading this novel in the Day Surgery waiting area at a hospital while my father had hip surgery. Trust me when I say the sound in the room was quieter than silence and the general mood one of tired anxiousness. So when I burst out laughing numerous times...well...I’m just special that way I guess. Next to me with her knitting my mother just rolled her eyes...
