Don't you hate a fence sitter, and yet, this is where this book falls, not bad but not great.

Ash & Brambles is Sara's first foray into Young Adult Fiction and as a whole, she doesn't do too bad a job of it. She'd previously honed her fantasy writing skills on her Junior Fiction Magic Thief series which I still adore to this day, but I can't say the same for this novel. First, this book is...

Oh.  My.  Goodness.  I was beyond thrilled when I saw that Sarah Prineas was writing a fourth book in this super series.  She had written the first three and then veered off for another four book series which, honestly, didn't grip me like The Magic Thief did.  Then, when I saw she was going back to her original series I pre-purchased, Home, right away.  And I'm so glad I did!  Since I'm chatting about her hiatus from Conn and his adventures, let me say Bravo to Sarah as a writer for making this fourth book a seamless continuation for us as readers.

I first fell in love with Sarah’s writing in her trilogy, “The Magic Thief”. Of course, I assumed Winterling would be the first in another series, but it is a stand alone novel. Perhaps in part because of this, I found Winterling lacking. Overall, this is a good read. Sarah delves deeply in fantasy mode when...

If you’ve had a chance to peruse my review of the first two books in this series, you’ll know that I loved them both and that same level of enjoyment was extended to this final book in the series. It is not easy to write three books that maintain the same high level of excitement from readers, yet Sarah does it flawlessly. In fact...

I’m always cautious with a series because the first book often fires out at us with a BANG! Then the second and third can peter out to a mere whimper and nothing, my friends, is worse than a series that gets steadily forgettable. But this is NOT that kind of series. YIPPEE! Sarah brings us another...

I’m always looking for books that my son can sink his 12 year old teeth into but I found my own choppers greedily eating up every page of this book and then I immediately plowed through the next two in the series. Isn’t it great when you can share books like this with your children? It creates a bond unlike parent – more like friends. With children on the cusp of teenage-horror-hormones anytime I can foster a friendship with my children I’m game! But I digress...
