Marketing is a tricky thing no matter the product. The marketing for this novel is to blame for a low rating on an author whom I usually love to bits. To fully explain we must go all the way back to Madeline Wickham. That was the name Sophie used when she first began writing paperback romance novels. A few years into this, she decided to use her real name because she was changing direction with her writing. She began to write comedy chick-lit romances and they were hilarious, awesome and much beloved by yours truly. Sophie's been writing her comedies for a while now and as a writer has decided to change course again. Not only does she change course, she jumps from adult into the young adult genre. I always drool and count down the days to any new book by Sophie Kinsella. Usually all the extra liquids and counting down of days is totally worth it. Usually. In this case, I was disappointed. I always look forward to another book by Sophie Kinsella and Wedding Night, though not tops in my rating system, did deliver some very satisfying bursts of laughter from me. Sophie writes this entire novel from the perspective of Lottie, our honeymooner and her older sister Fliss, who is determined to make sure her little sister's wedding can be legally annulled. It's a fun and furious kaleidoscope to switch from one sister's perspective to the other as one mishap follows another keeping the newly married couple apart.
