Untold is my first truly Gothic horror/romance/suspense book and I have to say, it didn't disappoint. This is an intense ride from the get go and I was an eager reader for wherever the adventure took me on the next page. Having said that, I was under the impression that this 'sequel' to the first book, Unspoken, was going to tie it all together and be done. If this book were a cupcake the cake part would be very good, but then you notice the pretty pink icing is so pink its neon. And I like sprinkles but instead of a few tasty bits it has been drowned in every sort of sprinkle to excess. To sum up, Sarah Rees Brennan had a great story here but she simply tried too hard. I didn't think that was possible, but who knew? The bones of the plot are strong.
